                                      How teens face bullying 

       Bullying is repeated aggressive behavior that can be physical, verbal, or relational. Boys frequently bully using physical threats and actions, while girls are more likely to engage in verbal or relationship bullying. 

    Is teenage bullying common?

    About 30 percent of teenagers in the U.S. have been involved in bullying, either as a bully or as a victim of teenage bullying. Data suggests that teenage bullying is more common among younger teens than it is among older teens. However, it may be that young teens are more prone to physical bullying, which is easier to identify, and that older teens are more sophisticated in methods of bullying that are not always exactly identified as such. 

  What are some of the effects of teenage bullying?

  There are a number of effects that come with teenage bullying. First of all, there are the obvious physical problems and injuries that can result from physical bullying. However, emotional, verbal and cyber bullying can deeply affect teens as well. These activities can lead to depression (and even suicide), drug use and stunted social development. These are problems that can affect a person well into adulthood.

     

   In the end, it is difficult to totally prevent teenage bullying – especially if it is verbal, emotional or cyber bullying. We should encourage good efforts to reduce bullying, and let victims see that we are involved in these efforts. The best thing we can do is be encouraging to bullying victims and try to help them get through this tough time. 

Three of my favorite movies

Hello everyone,
I came here today to talk to you about some of my favorite films. I love watching movies, I like all styles, but I confess that my favorite genres are romantic comedy, romance and action. If you also like these genres, and I guarantee you will like the following films.

- The Devil Wears Prada (2006)

This is one of those movies you can watch millions of times and not "tired". I LOVE anything that Anne Hathaway (right) do, in this film it shines much as Andy Sachs, a girl like many, dreams of working in a large magazine. And also quite like the Meryl Streep (left), who plays the role of editor-in-chief of the magazine. Together in this film they are divine!

- Homefront (2013)

I love ALL Jason Sthatam movies, if you like action movies certainly will love all the films he is a part. In this film he plays a former cop (Broker), who after losing his wife, moves to a city with her daughter. But a fight in the school of his daughter and a boy makes him know an addict site, which asks the brother heavy bar take care of him. Upon discovering his past, he gives his location to a man who wants revenge, since Broker years ago killed his brother.

- Killers (2010)

The film quite consistent with the title, since in my view can be considered a perfect film. The film tells the story of a couple (Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher) who is known on a trip to France. Three years later, to celebrate Spencer's birthday, Jen gives away a trip to Nice (where they met). But soon after his birthday party, Spencer ends up becoming the target of a millionaire hunting. Not understanding what is happening, his wife ends up getting involved in this funny trail, full of surprises and confusion.

Underage Drinking

  Alcohol is the drug of choice among youth. Many young people are experiencing the consequences of drinking too much, at too early an age. As a result, underage drinking is a leading public health problem in this country.

  Yet drinking continues to be widespread among adolescents, as shown by nationwide surveys as well as studies in smaller populations. According to data from the 2005 Monitoring the Future (MTF) study, an annual survey of U.S. youth, three-fourths of 12th graders, more than two-thirds of 10th graders, and about two in every five 8th graders have consumed alcohol. And when youth drink they tend to drink intensively, often consuming four to five drinks at one time. MTF data show that 11 percent of 8th graders, 22 percent of 10th graders, and 29 percent of 12th graders had engaged in heavy episodic (or “binge1”) drinking within the past two weeks (6) (see figure). (1 The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism [NIAAA] defines binge drinking as a pattern of drinking alcohol that brings blood alcohol concentration [BAC] to 0.08 grams percent or above. For the typical adult, this pattern corresponds to consuming five or more drinks [men], or four or more drinks [women], in about 2 hours.)

  Research also shows that many adolescents start to drink at very young ages. In 2003, the average age of first use of alcohol was about 14, compared to about 17 1/2 in 1965 (7,8). People who reported starting to drink before the age of 15 were four times more likely to also report meeting the criteria for alcohol dependence at some point in their lives (9). In fact, new research shows that the serious drinking problems (including what is called alcoholism) typically associated with middle age actually begin to appear much earlier, during young adulthood and even adolescence.

Other research shows that the younger children and adolescents are when they start to drink, the more likely they will be to engage in behaviors that harm themselves and others. For example, frequent binge drinkers (nearly 1 million high school students nationwide) are more likely to engage in risky behaviors, including using other drugs such as marijuana and cocaine, having sex with six or more partners, and earning grades that are mostly Ds and Fs in school (10).

When we think of food and typical dishes of the United States, it is common to think of fast food. But American dishes go well beyond that. It is true that many of them are unhealthy and are famous for excess fat and sugar. However, they are popular throughout the world. Let's talvez about some of them.


•American pancakes•
American pancake is part of the traditional breakfast of the country. And it is very different from what we are used to eat at lunch. Brazilian pancakes are thinner, salted and served rolled. American pancakes are thicker, served in disc format and usually with maple syrup (kind of honey), fruit or jams.
•Apple pie•
The apple pie was not invented in the United States, but is considered a typical American food to be very successful. In fact, it is originally from Europe but has become an American cultural item. Either way it was created the expression "as American as apple pie."

•Pork ribs and barbecue sauce•
The pork ribs are very successful in the United States barbecues. Generally, they are served with much BBQ sauce on top, and are accompanied by chips. This typical dish of the United States must have been created between 1861 and 1865, during the Civil War. The barbecue sauce is also a true American classic and is used to combine with many types of meats and sandwiches.
•Brownie•
The brownie is one of America's most traditional sweets. He has won the world and is very successful in Brazil. A common theory of his invention is that the cookers forgot to add yeast or flour in its preparation. Another famous theory for the creation of this typical dish of the United States is that a housewife forgot to add baking powder, roasted and then realized that the cake has not grown, but served anyway and everyone loved it.

•Meatloaf•

- The motto of the Paralympic Games is "moving spirit " . It was created in 2004 for the Paralympic Games in Athens .

- The first Paralympic Games were held in 1960 in Rome (the capital of Italy).

- The best performance in Brazil Paralympic Games took place in 2012, in the London Olympics, when the Brazilian paralympic athletes won 43 medals. We stayed in 7th place in the medals table with 21 gold, 14 silver and 8 bronze.

- The 2020 Paralympic Games will take place in Tokyo ( Tokyo ) .

 - Throughout the history of the Paralympic Games , Brazil has won 229 medals (73 gold , 83 silver and 73 bronze) .

- Brazil has made its debut in Paralympics in 1972 in Heidelberg (West Germany) . In these Olympics , Brazil did not win medals.

- It is celebrated on September 22, the National Day Athlete Paralympics . Remember that September 21 is the National Day of Persons with Disabilities Fight .

- The slogan of the Rio 2016 Paralympics will " Live your passion " , the same that will be used in the 2016 Olympic Games .

1- Life As We Know It (2010)

 Holly and Eric are godparents of Sophie, the daughter of their best friends, but they hate each other. One day, in a tragedy, Sophie's parents die and now, the adults have to look after the baby together.

 After that, you can imagine what will happen, but I won't give you more spoilers, it's just so boring and I want you to watch it.

 This is my favorite movie of all, it's just so funny, lovely and perfect. So please, believe me and just open your Netflix right now!!

2- Pretty woman (1990)

 An handsome and rich businessman needs a woman for some social events and hires a beautiful prostitute to do that, but fortunately, the love appears and change their relationship, making a lovely and successful movie.

 Probably you've already watched this movie or at least, heard about it, but I just can't ignore "Pretty Woman". I love so much this movie, it's so original and lovely at the same time.

3- Love & other drugs (2010)

 Maggie is an amazing free spirit woman who won't let anyone - or anything - tie her down. But she meets her match in Jamie who is successful with ladies and in the world of pharmaceutical sales. Maggie and Jamie's evolving relationship takes them both by surprise, as they find themselves under the influence of the ultimate drug: love.

 But I have to tell you guys, this movie is really sad, lovely and kind at the same time, so you must be prepared to cry and laugh a lot, anyway, I love it.

Netflix: passion or poison?

  Hi darlings,

  Today I'll talk about Netflix, yeah, I know you love it and if you don't, you probably never used it.

Nowadays, most of people are addicted in this site, including me and it's literally changing and controlling our lives.

 I don't know exactly the reason, but in my opinion it's because we put the passion, action and adventure of the series ahead our problems and that's makes us feel normal and happy for a feel hours. It's easier leave all the concern of side than deal with it.

 Unfortunately, we do not realize that this is not a really good behavior to acquire because it's consuming all our time and preventing us from live, just like my lovely Chandler said, but we  are just saying ok? So, don't be mad with us.

       Teen girls who drink, face special challenges:

      Among teenage heavy drinkers, girls are more likely to say that they drink to escape problems or to cope with frustration or anger.  

      Girls usually drink because of family problems, not because of peer preasure; 

       Drinking also can delay puberty in girls, while abusing alcohol can cause endocrine disorders during puberty;

        Teenage girls who drink are more likely to have unprotected sex than girls who don't drink, putting them at increased risk of pregnancy and sexually trasmitted diseases.
